EXECUTIVEDIRECTOR The U.S.-Colombian Fulbright Commission(Fulbright Colombia) invites U.S. and Colombian citizensto apply for the position of Executive Director. Founded in 1957Fulbright Colombia is a non-profit, binational organizationwhich promotes mutual understanding between the two nations throughacademic and cultural exchange programs and related services.Application deadline is May 15, 2024.The Executive Director oversees an annual budget of over $7million and reports to a binational board comprised ofColombian and U.S. members, including a member from the Ministry ofForeign Affairs and representatives of the U.S. Embassy. TheExecutive Director also reports to the U.S. Department of StatesBureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.Demonstrated leadership competencies, program management anddevelopment experience, human resources management experience,financial oversight experience, marketing and public relationsexpertise, and an entrepreneurial spirit are key attributes forthis role. The Executive Director is the public face of ahigh-profile, prestigious binational program, requiring outstandinginterpersonal, public speaking, and diplomatic skills. Competitivecandidates will demonstrate credibility in action and the abilityto bring together different interests in a constructive andsolution-oriented manner. The position requires domestic and someinternational travel to promote U.S.-Colombia academic cooperationand the Fulbright Program.The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of professionalexperience; experience in fundraising; solid knowledge of thehigher education sector, both public and private, in Colombia andthe United States; experience engaging the Colombian Government onissues of higher education; and be able to direct and supervise ateam of approximately 20 full time professionals and othercontractors. The candidate must be legally eligible to work inColombia, possess an advanced degree, preferably from a U.S.university (doctoral degree preferred), and have fluency in bothEnglish and Spanish.Salary and benefits are competitive and negotiable.Candidates must be available to assume the position by August2024.
