We thrive on passion and innovation and are looking for great people, with great ideas, who want to build the next big thing and develop while they do. *This is a Summer Internship (May to August 2024)* This position is full-time (40 hours/week) based in our Needham, MA office The Ninja Test Kitchen Sensory Intern will support quantitative and qualitative research to influence SharkNinja's development of 5-star products. The ideal candidate will be naturally inquisitive, have strong project management skills, interest in data analysis, and demonstrate strong strategic and critical thinking skills. Our team takes a unique approach to product development, blending culinary arts and the science of food. The Ninja Test Kitchen shapes the product roadmap, development and story creation. Position Summary: Assisting the development of sensory testing approach, protocols and parameters to guide product development, evaluate prototypes, validate claims, etc. Participates in translating findings from experiments and literature research into actionable insights Conduct sensory testing to define consumer preference and satisfaction in taste, texture, and aroma to help define key performance indicators and drive product decisions in technology Create questionnaires and lead sensory sessions, as needed Keep detailed test data and results in an organized and clear manner as well as develop test datasheets for new protocols Meticulously records testing results and shares results as needed with key stakeholders in a timely fashion Assists and attends internal and external events, as needed Continuously applies current state of the art in sensory science and perception to Global Sharkninja Development Desired Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will have completed 2+ years in a Food Science or STEM adjacent program Must be able to work full time The ideal candidate will be naturally inquisitive & have strong project management skills. Builds understanding and trust with others by meeting commitments Identifies the needs & expectations of others (personal & business) and acts upon them. Leverages strong organizational and analytical skills to synthesize information from various sources focusing on relevancy and impact opportunity. Thrives in a hands-on, dynamic, agile environment.
