Job Summary: Functions as a skilled technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs on customer and dealership vehicles and who focuses on fixing it right the first time. Company Paid Life Insurance Career progression opportunities Responsibilities: Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts. Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician. Participates in and completes manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Keeps up on manufacturer technical bulletins. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies service advisor immediately of any changes. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals . Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Must possess and maintain required hand tools. Maintain training in accordance with required skill levels. Uphold and comply with Customer Care Standards (or current customer related program). Comply with manufacturer’s policies and procedures on repairs. Maintain a neat and clean work area. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Certificate / License Requirements: State Inspection License and State Emission Certification Master Certification a plus Valid Driver's License Manufacturer’s certifications to work on the vehicles a plus Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height. Must be able to successfully handle all tools required to perform duties above. Must be able to bend down to see under or inside vehicles. Must be able to twist and turn as needed to work in, on or about the vehicles .
