With our headquarters in Calgary, and manufacturing facilities in Leduc, we also have field offices in Swift Current, Brooks, Lloydminster, and Provost Alberta. The Drafting Technician will support Engineering activities for the development of next-generation products, and operating lab equipment for customer materials analysis. This role will report to the Engineering Manager. Department: Engineering Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; some overtime as required The successful candidates will be able to: • Design, modify and troubleshoot specialized equipment and products using 3D CAD software• Design manufacturing aids for machining, welding and assembly used in the production of various products • Directing the construction of new products and equipment• Research local codes, guidelines, and design criteria for the development of products and equipment• Produce technical documentation for products including parts drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, sale drawings etc. • Evaluating the assembly, performance and design of new products or equipment. • Reporting on project charters, testing documentation and design analysis of a product development lifecycle• Evaluating products and equipment using analytical models and software analysis (ie. FEA, Mathcad)• Advising on the development of work instructions to aid in the manufacturing process• Directing technical inspections to identify critical components and advising on quality control methods• Undertake hands-on work in all stages of product.
