As part of the Engineering Team, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise to improve reliability, safety, and customer experience of the Bi-Level and UP-Express rail fleet. Create engineering documents to support the development of engineering instructions for fleet modifications to existing equipment and new applications. Your responsibilities will include: Re-Engineer, upgrade, create modifications to increase reliability, safety, customer experience of the locomotive and coach fleet. Create Project Initiation documents that will be presented to the customer for approval. Review customer Project Initiation requests and develop the engineering drawings or instructions. Work with Senior Management to quote the engineering proposal for customer approval. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned projects and modifications. Provide oversight, input and expertise to the technicians performing the modifications to ensure installation are done to required specification and expected quality. Complete first article inspection. Collaborate with other internal Department (Supply Chain, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Planning, Maintenance, Training) Create mechanical drawings, diagrams, Bill of Material Prepare presentations to customer and management Provide oversight, input and expertise in the development of job procedures. .
