Middlesex School seeks a Mindfulness teacher beginning in the 2024-2025 School year. For more information on Middlesex and to apply for this position, please visit our careers page .We seek candidates who will bring to the position enthusiasm for and expertise in mindfulness education, commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive learning environment, and willingness to lead mindfulness initiatives with our full school community, including faculty and staff, students, alumni, and families. Candidates must be comfortable in designing curriculum both independently and as part of a broader community life programming in conjunction with the Dean of Students. We are particularly interested in candidates with enthusiasm to sustain and grow our robust mindfulness program that includes introductory mindfulness classes for new students as well as ongoing programming that deepens the practice for students at any level. The position involves teaching mindfulness in a variety of settings beyond the classroom, including full-school meetings, parents’ groups, athletic teams, and facilitating the training of students to become mindfulness leaders in their own right. We seek candidates who will promote the value and practice of mindfulness within our full school community while also promoting the School’s goal of diversifying and expanding our curricular offerings and participation in mindfulness programming. Strong candidates should have a proven record of work in mindfulness, as demonstrated by their own teaching experience and participation in training programs. Experience teaching mindfulness to youth preferred. As a residential school, Middlesex considers the work of faculty more broadly. When we are at our best, we are engaging with our students both in and out of the classroom. Applicants should be deeply committed to embracing and supporting the diversity of our student body. Faculty members at Middlesex may be responsible for weekly evening and occasional weekend supervisory duties. They may also be responsible for contributing to the life of the school through athletics and extracurricular activities.
