Overview: Become part of the team at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness located at 211 N. Stetson Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. The club facilities include the tallest indoor health club climbing wall in the United States. It is a top-rope facility designed Entre-Prises. The Illinois Center location is a 120,000 square feet in the heart of the east Loop area and part of the Lakeshore East community. The seven-story structure is highlighted by the climbing wall that rises through the atrium. Lakeshore - Illinois Center Climbing Wall Essential Responsibilities: Belay individual climbers as needed and teach Top-Rope Certification classes. Maintain and promote a safe and clean climbing wall area. Provide excellent customer service to climbers of all skill levels and promote positive and encouraging climbing experience. Facilitate climbing orientation and certification to novice and first-time climbers during individual and group sessions. Teach and assist with proper fit of equipment, how to tie in, how to belay with a GriGri/Carabiner combination, teach safety check, dialogue, and communicate with climbers when needed. Enforce all climbing wall rules. Be aware of all equipment. If something needs to be retired or repaired notify the Climbing Wall Supervisor. Pay Scale Commensurate with experience level. Qualifications: Able to work with adults and children. Must be personable and outgoing. Previous climbing experience and skills is mandatory. Previous or current employment at a certified climbing gym is recommended. Must have flexibility to work mornings, evenings and both weekend days. Pay scale is commensurate with experience and certifications. Benefits: Complimentary club membership with free climbing privileges.
