Job Title: Security GuardCinder, Spokane's premium cannabis retailer, is looking for responsible and friendly unarmed Security Guards to ensure the safety of our company's employees, visitors, and property. This position is tasked with patrolling designated areas, checking customer identification, responding to safety and security concerns, and establishing a security presence while providing exceptional customer service to guests.The ideal candidate has strong verbal de-escalation skills, sharp observational abilities, and previous security and customer service experience. This person will excel in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining a calm and secure environment.As part of Cinder’s commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment, Security Guards are expected to engage respectfully and compassionately with members of the local homeless population. While maintaining vigilance for any potential security concerns, guards are encouraged to approach interactions with empathy and understanding, recognizing the dignity of every individual. It is paramount that our guards establish clear and realistic boundaries for behavior, addressing any inappropriate conduct firmly yet compassionately. By upholding these principles, our security team contributes to the creation of a supportive and secure community for all. Job Type: Full-time, hourly Starting Pay Range : $17.00 - $20.00 an hour Location: Downtown Spokane - 927 W 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA, 99201 Schedule: 8 hour shifts, open availability including nights and weekends Cinder Hours of Operation: 8am - 11pm Responsibilities Regularly patrolling the property to maintain order and establish a safety presence and prevent loitering Provide excellent customer service by making guests feel welcome Ability to successfully de-escalate situations verbally to prevent violence of any kind Ensure shoppers are of legal purchasing age by checking identification Ensure organizational stability and enhance reputation through consistently demonstrating professional conduct Dismiss patrons off the property in situations of disturbance or potential threats/danger Maintaining a clean and clear environment for visitors Preventing and reporting damage to the property Follow procedures for emergency situations, escalating to law enforcement as needed Identify potential security risks or disturbances and respond accordingly Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information Use radio headset communication Follow all rules, laws, and regulations set by the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Control Board Skills Exceptional deescalation skills, ability to make calm and clear decisions in high-stress situations Critical thinker and problem solving skills Friendly, polite, positive, and professional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required Must be 21+ Able to pass a background check Must have previous experience in a related field Previous customer service experience preferred CPR or first aid training is preferred Able to stand or walk for long periods of time Work in various environments such as hot or cold weather, rain or snow Benefits Paid time off Paid holidays Employee discount Medical & dental insurance About Cinder Cinder is Spokane’s premium cannabis retailer, serving Eastern Washington customers with three store locations conveniently located in Spokane Valley, Downtown Spokane, and North Spokane.
