As a machine operator, you will be a part of the process and able to learn various tasks to assist with creating food packaging used in the food industry today. Waxer (Printing Press) Operator: Waxer Machines are responsible for printing logos and other information on rolls of paper and applying wax coating to protect the paper during the food heating process and prevent oils and other food biproducts from leaking through the paper. This is the first step and often most critical step for most other machines within the production plant. Availability: 2nd Shift Sheeter and Sleeter Operator: Sheeter and Sleeter Machines cut printed and waxed rolls of paper into smaller sheets, either to be used by other machines or to be packaged for shipment to our customers. These finished goods are then sent to the Cutter to make smaller sheets or used for pan-liners and various other orders of larger sheets of paper. Availability: 2nd and 3rd shift Interfolder Operator: Interfolder Machines also slice waxed rolls into smaller paper but are more typically used for dispenser boxes used for handling smaller food products, such as donuts or kitchen wrappings. The Interfolder technology stacks sheets in a way that when pulled from a box, it also pulls the next sheet up for easy grab-and-go. Availability: 1st and 2nd shift Cutter Operator: Once the Sheeter sends paper here, it is cut into smaller sheets for use in basket liners and other smaller tasks. Cutters are made up of smaller teams in charge of packaging paper into boxes, constructing boxes from corrugated boxes, and placing labels on the boxes to meet customer specifications. Bag Machines often include a complete process from raw product to finished goods. Availability: Material Handlers: While not machine operators, Material Handlers provide a vital role in the manufacturing process. Material Handlers are in change of ensuring materials are moved to various machines and help with receiving and shipping requirements to ensure products are shipped on time, every time. Material handlers work with all types of mobile equipment, from fork and clamp trucks to pallet jacks. Availability: Press Assistant: Press Assistants help Waxers and Bag Machine Operators in their production tasks. They assist with the printing process, helping setup printing plates, keeping printing plates clean, and monitor and mix inks for the various print jobs. Availability: 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Machine Operators oversee the complete process of their assigned machines.
