Position Summary:The teacher will create and maintain a culturally responsive, educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school programs and goals. It will also be the teacher's responsibility to create and implement high-quality, standards-based instruction and lesson plans for all students, aligned with the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The list of essential duties and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following, and may be revised as necessary.1. Administer appropriate curriculum aligned with the NVACS2. Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive, culturally responsive, and inclusive learning environment3. Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment4. Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that align with the Nevada Academic Content Standards5. Analyze student data and progress with a balanced assessment system to provide effective and targeted instruction and interventions to maximize student learning6. Provide a classroom management plan to ensure student safety at all times7. Collaborate effectively and professionally with administration, staff, parents/guardians, and the community8. Integrate the use of technology into the instructional program in accordance with the Nevada K-12 Integrated Technology Standards9. Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position, as assignedPosition Expectations:1. Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in a classroom2. Work cooperatively with students, parents/guardians, peers, administration, and community members3. Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students6. Participate as an active member with all faculty and staff7. Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and school policy8. Maintain and improve professional competence9. Communicate effectively both written and orally10. Meet all assigned deadlines 11. Work collaboratively in PLC teamsPosition Requirements:An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university1. Must possess or be able to acquire by the time of appointment to the position, a teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). Must be certified in a relevant subject area2.
