Position Summary: The Director of Distribution will lead and oversee day to day operations of our 700ksqft flagship distribution center with 100+ employees across 3 shifts. The Director is responsible to develop coach and mentor supervisory staff, establish processes and KPI's to manage the DC. Work collaboratively with all levels and functions of the organization and develop relationships with cross functional partners and other DC leaders.The Director will maintain and improve high levels of customer service and quality to ensure excellent customer satisfaction. Ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Effectively manage inventory of 7,000+ SKU's and over a million units of on hand inventory.This position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain. Through the implementation of efficient operational (enhanced SIOP, lean manufacturing, inventory planning, optimization of the distribution network, redesign and value engineering of compounds and products, improved process control, activity based costing, etc.) and intelligent commercial (dynamic pricing and material margin management, new product development, refined channel management, new account conquests, etc.) strategies, the company is targeting improving performance to over 12% EBITDA margins on substantially higher revenue over time. Pivotal Experience and Expertise: Carlstar seeks an action-oriented, self-driven, hands-on DC leader with demonstrated WMS intellect, energy and wherewithal to lead and transform a growing team at Carlstar's largest Distribution Center. Successfully manage the transition to a new WMS system Develop and implement KPI's to improve facility efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensure high level of inventory accuracy & control Effectively slot the warehouse in order to maximize labor efficiencies. Manage external recruiting and contractor relationships to ensure labor requirements are achieved. Lead employee engagement activities to maximize development and retention of employees. Create leadership development program for supervisory and lead staff. Ensure accurate timecards for all employees for payroll processing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, engineering or related area. Minimum of 8-10yrs experience managing a Distribution center of similar size. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects to include WMS transitions. Skilled with facility layout, warehouse flow, and pick sequencing. Demonstrated track record of assessing and developing talent. Ability to become a WMS super user, analyze and interpret data using excel. Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
