Health policy and advocacy organization located in East Harlem, Manhattan is seeking to hire a Temporary-to-Permanent Facilities Associate to add to the Facilities team of 7. This position will start ASAP, requiring 5 days on-site from 9am-5pm with availability after-hours and on weekends as needed for events. The ideal candidate is OK with being an active independent worker in the day-to-day as the primary function of this job requires manual labor and the ability to lift 50-100 pounds. Pay rate up to $23/hour while temp. Responsibilities: Perform light carpentry, electrical, plumbing and other assistant handyman tasks as required Responsible for the cleanliness, repair, and trash and recycling removal of all items on specified floors of the building Cleaning will consist of all offices, common areas, restrooms, and event spaces Maintain the general cleanliness of all buildings and grounds, including front of building and doors Inspection of any light fixtures that are out and replace any bulbs, etc. Coordinating set-up and clean-up for all meetings and special events, including lifting tables and placing chairs Assist with delivery of furniture and supplies to the building Accommodate staff requests for maintenance services as instructed by supervisor Other ad-hoc duties as assigned Qualifications: 1+ years of facilities-related experience; mechanic/handyman experience required in some capacity A familiarization with local, state, and federal regulations governing buildings in NYC Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required Ability to work flexible hours Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Compensation/Benefits: Up to $23/hour while temp | Salary range: $43,677-$51,996 when perm Great benefits package Beacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
