This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit,strong industry relationships, and proven technical skills.Responsibilities:As a Structural Design Manager, you will lead the development of new business opportunities inthe lower Hudson Valley, supporting the firm's growth strategy. Responsibilities include: Identifying and cultivating new project opportunities through network connections andmarket research. Conducting pro active meetings with potential and current clients. Collaborating to develop teaming and operational strategies in response to market orclient needs. Preparation of technical proposals, attendance at interviews, and securing contracts. Managing projects from initiation to implementation, including staff and resourceplanning. Attracting and hiring staff to expand the design group. Attendance at conferences, networking events, and lead development.Qualifications: Experience managing transportation infrastructure design projects in New York State,particularly culvert and bridge replacement or rehabilitation projects. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meetdeadlines. Excellent communication, presentation, and client relation skills (both verbal and written). A well-established network of public sector clients and contacts in the lower HudsonValley.Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or equivalent. 8 years of experience in a similar engineering role. Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure strongly desired; engineering experience maybe considered. Active membership in a professional practice organization.Essential Job Functions: Day-to-day client relations and staffing/project scheduling. Concurrent project management of various projects. Review project documents for conformity and QA/QC. Develop new techniques and improved processes. Act as a technical specialist and advisor. Represent the organization in communications and conferences. Train and provide technical guidance to project engineers. Manage project schedules and budgets. Lead project/public meetings in complex projects. Responsible for QA/QC and coordination for multidisciplinary projects.
