Part-Time E-Learning Helpdesk Support Technician

Position Details: A federal grant-funded position reporting to the I.T. Helpdesk Supervisor and Director of Instructional Technology, to provide telephone and online technical support to students taking online classes or accessing Kilgore College online services. Technicians will work in teams of two, in an open computer lab, Monday through Thursday. Teams will alternate Friday shifts of 8-12 pm. Maximum of 20 hours per week. Responsibilities: Serves as a Help Desk Technician Assists students, visitors, and staff Assist with password resets and troubleshooting devices Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Ability to use internet tools, Microsoft Office, and Blackboard Platform Ability to handle tech support calls in a courteous manner High School Diploma Ability to interact with persons online, on the telephone, and in person Dependable and trustworthy Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be self-motivated and detail oriented. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Safety: Provide resources for safe operations of units. Create and support workplace safety, and technological protocols. Salary Range & Fringe Benefits: The rate of pay is up to $10 per hour depending on experience for up to 19 hours per week.
