Professor of Biology (Assistant or Associate Professor) The University of Mary invites applications for a full-time position in Biology to begin Fall 2024. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. A doctorate degree in Biology, or a closely related field, is required by the time of employment. This position will involve teaching majors and non-majors introductory biology courses as well as courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. While candidates with expertise in any area of biology are invited, applicants with an interest in wildlife or conservation biology will be given preference. A willingness to take contribute to our active Wildlife Management & Conservation Biology Concentration would be beneficial. Applicants should understand, support, and advance the liberal arts, excel in teaching at the undergraduate level, and be willing to join other active program faculty in developing a research agenda appropriate for participation by undergraduate science majors. All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine Mission and Identity of the University of Mary (see https://www.umary.edu/about/mission-identity ). All faculty are expected to participate in the on-going implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae , the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities, and to help foster a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the School of Arts and Sciences and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ .
