POSITION SUMMARY Working in accordance with the established mission, policies, and procedures, the HumanResources Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering the personnelactivities for the Broadview Community including screening, interviewing, and training allexempt and non-exempt employees. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: Essential Job Duties: 1. Recruits personnel and ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws plusapplicable Community policies and procedures.2. Prepares and places all advertisements and in-house job postings.3. Receives, reviews, and processes all employment applications.4. Screens and interviews for all exempt and non-exempt positions.5. Handles all correspondence with applicants.6. Maintains all applications on file for future openings.7. Hosts Purchase College student job fair as needed to in support of seasonal andtemporary line positions.8. Completes all paperwork and maintains on-going personnel folders for all employees.9. Assists in the development and the administration of all employee benefit programs,providing assistance in submitting claims, maintaining adequate supply of all necessaryforms, reviewing coverages, evaluating performance of providers, serving as contactperson for insurance carriers interested in offering employee benefits programs toCommunity.10. Conducts compensation and classification studies on site and through professionalassociations, keeping abreast of trends and conditions in the business community.11. Assists in the preparation of all job descriptions and specifications to ensure the integrityof the Community wage and salary system.12. Assists in the development and coordination of Personnel Policy and Procedures Manualreviewing all items for consistency of style and content.13. Maintains the Employee Handbook and Job Descriptions and Specifications preparingchanges, additions and corrections as needed.14. Ensures confidentiality of employee records, releasing authorized information regardingemployment verification, following Community policy regarding all inquiries androutinely informs other staff of the requirements of the Community confidentiality policy.15. Reviews and submits all Workmen’s Compensation reports, processing all medical andwage claims, maintaining required logs, preparing necessary reports, analyzing injurylogs, submitting recommendations to supervisors regarding areas of concern.16. Gathers, reviews, and disseminates information on employee safety and health, keepingabreast of changes in OSHA requirements and informing the Safety Committee andappropriate staff where applicable.17. Processes all unemployment compensation claims and inquiries, completing all requestsfor information, conferring with the unemployment compensation consultant regardingclaims and bills.18. Reviews and maintains on file all employee incident reports.19. Conducts training seminars and workshops for staff relating to unemploymentcompensation, Workman’s Compensation, employee safety, equal employmentopportunity and affirmative action, employee benefits, personnel policies and procedures,disciplinary action, termination and other matters, as required.20. Serves as resource for supervisory staff, explaining and interpreting personnel proceduresand the implications of applicable laws and regulations, assisting, as needed, in thecompletion of necessary documentation of personnel matters by supervisory staff relatingto disciplinary action, termination and evaluation.21. Processes all Personnel Action Requests to ensure accuracy and compliance withCommunity policies and procedures.22. Serves as representative for employees and acts in a conciliatory role concerningemployee grievances, conferring with and counseling employees regarding personnelpolicies and procedures, benefits, employee relations, and work related, personal andprofessional concerns.23. Coordinates all general orientation and reorientation programs for new employees.24. Coordinates staff development, in-service and out service training programs, assistingdepartment heads in the development and implementation of short-range and long-rangetraining programs, surveying and evaluating these training programs to determineadequacy, effectiveness, and appropriateness, implementing changes, throughcooperation and consultation with department heads, as needed. Other Duties: 1. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.2. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.3. Works collaboratively with professionals within Purchase College as assigned. The salary range for this opportunity is $135,000-$145,000 per annum. Through these efforts we can ensure and exceedresidents’ wellness needs relating to their mind, body and soul, which may also have a positiveeffect on the employees, as a result. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field.2. A minimum of three to five years human resources generalist experience preferably in acustomer service environment, with preference given to previous exposure to seniorliving, especially familiarity with university-based retirement communities.3. Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor regulations, personneladministration, employee relations, compensation, and benefits administration, recruitingand selection, and training and development. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to move throughout the building and grounds as needed throughout the day; mustbe able to lift to 30 lbs. Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communicationskills required. Must be able to speak English. May be exposed to communicable diseases, andblood and body fluids that may contain HIV and/or HBV. May be exposed to cleaningchemicals and offensive odors.
