VPG Construction is looking for a Construction Estimator to work closely with contractors, and other operational personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis. Job Responsibilities Review and understand project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information Analyze project requirements and break down the scope of work into specific tasks Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs based on historical data, industry standards, and current market conditions Utilize construction estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings to determine the amount of materials required for each project component Verify and validate takeoff quantities with project stakeholders Obtain quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms Collaborate with procurement teams to establish cost-effective agreements Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including a breakdown of costs for labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins Develop detailed project budgets for review by senior management and clients Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies Maintain accurate and organized documentation of cost estimates, quotes, and relevant correspondence Update and revise estimates as project details evolve Present cost estimates to internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders Address inquiries and provide clarification on cost-related matters Stay informed about industry trends, construction methods, and market conditions Continuously seek opportunities to improve estimating processes and methodologies Perform other required tasks as assigned Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, architecture, or a related field Experience in Commerical Construction preferred Proven experience as a Construction Estimator Experience in Procore, Microsoft Projects, or similar Construction Estimating package is a plus Strong analytical and mathematical skills Excellent communication and negotiation skills Attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of local building codes and regulations Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Must be able to work weekends if workload requires. Construction Estimator Qualifications and Skills : Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic Ability to navigate specifications and plans Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects Ability to handle multiple assignments at once Knowledge of the latest building codes Close attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Education and Experience Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, architecture, or a similar field is preferred Certificate in general construction, roofing, electrician, etc. At least 3 -5 years of related experience is required Job Type: Full-time VPG PAY TRANSPARENCY POLICY STATEMENT: VPG will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
