Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern A Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to projects focused on improving mining conditions and economics. Where will you work: Carlsbad, NM site (1361 Potash Mines Road Carlsbad, NM 88229) Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates. Term September 3 to December 20, 2024Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hrs a week on site. What you'll do? Day to day work assignments could include: Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working at a site including Mine Planning, Mine Ventilation, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, Maintenance, Safety, Mapping and more Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, mine operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies What you'll need: Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Geology or Mining, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.2.75 GPA or higher Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internshipAbility to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office. Basic computer skills are requiredExperience working in a team environment is a mustFamiliarity with an industrial environment is highly desirableEffective verbal communication skills is a plusPhysical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environmentsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
