Job Summary:[ Please include a cover letter ] The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing and managing all aspects of accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial record-keeping. This role involves interacting with vendors and internal departments to facilitate smooth payment processes. Key Responsibilities : Invoice Processing: Receive and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval. Code invoices to appropriate accounts and departments . Enter invoice data into the accounting system. Payment Processing: Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, electronic transfers, and other payment methods. Verify and reconcile payment amounts with supporting documentation. Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies. Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions. File and archive invoices, receipts, and other related documents. Month-End Reconciliation: Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts payable transactions. Prepare reports summarizing accounts payable activities. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations that may impact accounts payable processes. Support: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects as needed. Collaborate with other departments for cross-functional tasks. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in accounting is a plus. Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk in a multi company/store and multi department environment. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Attributes: Integrity and trustworthiness.
