Description:
The wheeled vehicle mechanic is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles. Job Duties: Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systems Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and components Service automotive electrical systems including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations Training: Job training for a wheeled vehicle mechanic requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. Helpful Skills: Interest in auto mechanics and the industrial arts Enjoy physical work Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems Interest in automotive engines and how they work Compensation: Housing provided at no cost 100% Medical and Dental Insurance Meals or grocery allowance provided 30 Days Paid Vacation with free travel Yearly pay raises and regular promotions Potential to earn up to $40,000 cash bonus depending on qualifications 15 Semester Hours of college paid for per year 100% paid college tuition Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Education: High school or equivalent (Required) License: Driver's License (Preferred) Work authorization: United States (Required) Powered by JazzHR
