The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation, along with a strong background in tax court proceedings. The position requires a thorough understanding of civil and criminal tax controversy matters, including whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures. The candidate must have exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record of success in tax litigation.Duties:Represent clients in tax litigation matters before federal and state courts.Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of tax controversy issues.Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients' cases.Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.Negotiate settlements and agreements with tax authorities on behalf of clients.Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting clients' interests.Requirements:8-10 years of tax litigation experience.Juris Doctorate (JD) and LLM in Taxation are required.Demonstrated experience in tax court proceedings.Familiarity with civil and criminal tax controversy matters.Experience with whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures is preferred.Strong academic record and analytical skills.Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.Education:Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.LLM (Master of Laws) in Taxation.Certifications:Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.Skills:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to analyze complex tax issues and provide strategic advice.Proficiency in legal research and writing.Strong negotiation skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Team player with a commitment to client service and professionalism.
