GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Die-Shop manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and managing incoming and outgoing tooling. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Identify, report, and correct any safety concerns. Oversee all die shop activities, including ensuring all press tooling is ready for production as per the schedule. Get press tooling estimates for new business and provide estimated cost and availability. Order new and replacement press tooling for all presses as needed. Oversee the correction of press tooling and ensure extrusions are within tolerance and meet the customer’s requirements. Communicate with die vendors and track press tooling deliveries, performance, and provide feedback to the press tooling vendors. Manage and monitor the Nitriding process of the press tooling and track production for re-nitriding. Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns within the die shop department. Lead continuous improvement team on production performance. Manage the hiring, orientation, training, and development of the die shop team. Cross-train, learn, and support other functions or processes as required. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong knowledge of press tooling design, repairs, and maintaining Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes, including lean and 6 S’s. Honest and fiscally responsible Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills to assist the company in achieving its goals and growth. Excellent oral and written communication skills. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of five years’ experience in a Die-Shop or similar tooling environment. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Comfortable in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and move parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete physical tasks as needed.
