Description:
Job title: Industrial Painter Reports to: Maintenance Manager Summary/objective: Responsible for the organization, preparation, and quality of the painting department. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience using a conventional spray gun with cleaning, grinding, masking parts, etc. Essential functions: Prepare material prior to painting. Operate paint spray guns. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on paint equipment, guns, regulators, and filters. Support workplace organization goals, and participate in continuous improvement of the department. Engage questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and vendors. Contribute to other departments as workflow demands. Required competency, education, and experience: At least 3 years of experience Candidate must have the following areas of knowledge: Industrial Paint Best Practices, Paint materials, and Surface Preparation Candidate must have knowledge and a good understanding of how to mix and measure different paint types Work environment: Manufacturing environment. Physical demands: Employee must be able to wear a respirator. Employee must be able to pass a pulmonary function test before hire and annually during employment. Employee would be frequently required to sit; use hands to grip or handle objects, tools, or controls; and to talk and hear. Employee would be occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee would be frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Employee would be frequently required to crawl or stoop. Employee would be frequently required to climb a ladder and use the overhead crane. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
