The Counselor provides services to individuals with Substance Use Disorders who are enrolled in the Pathway House, a residential recovery home for men. These services include a full range of counseling and case management activities with a goal of preparing each client to establish and maintain a program of sustained recovery and self-sufficiency. The Counselor is also responsible to help maintain a residential community environment that is welcoming and compassionate while also instilling accountability in the people we serve. Duties: The Counselor is responsible for the coordination and implementation of service elements to the client including individual and group Substance Use Disorder counseling. The Counselor is responsible for the development with the client of the individual treatment plan and its elements. The Counselor is responsible to facilitate therapeutic groups using established curricula. The Counselor will match the client’s needs with appropriate community resources. The Counselor will administer policy and procedures as established in Pathway House Rules and Regulations. The Counselor will be responsible for all related recordkeeping and reports. The Counselor will adhere to applicable laws, regulations and agency policies governing the disclosure of client identifying data and confidentiality. The Counselor will attend all mandatory meetings and trainings. The Counselor will network and represent GAAMHA/Pathway House in the community and will conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and professional standards of the agency. Other tasks as may be deemed necessary. Qualifications: Successful candidate will have a bachelor’s level degree or demonstrated equivalent experience, candidates with CADC or LADC and experience in residential treatment settings preferred. Incumbent must possess a working knowledge of 12 Step programs and other mutual aid support programs. Must have excellent oral, written and social skills and be able to demonstrate cultural competence and carry out all duties in compliance with HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2. Incumbent must possess computer skills and be proficient in MS Office. Incumbent must hold a valid driver’s license. Supervision Given: None. Supervision Received: The Substance Use Disorder Counselor receives administrative supervision from the Program Director and clinical supervision from the Clinical Supervisor. Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (4 Week Days and 1 Weekend Day), 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Powered by JazzHR
