We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Responsibilities: • Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, using condiments, vegetables, and proteins, and mixing sauces for use in various meals• Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene• Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed• Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly• Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations Qualifications: • Able to read recipes, meal charts, and labels and understand directions in English• Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours• Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision• Basic familiarity with operating kitchen equipment• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift Compensation: $12 - $16 hourly About Company: Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks is one of the fastest-growing businesses in Atlanta, Georgia.
