Practice Area: Personal Injury Plaintiffs, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 8 Years, A law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago, Illinois. The Personal Injury Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of personal injury claims. They will collaborate closely with other attorneys to develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and lead case management teams in effectively representing clients. This role entails overseeing all phases of personal injury cases from intake through trial or settlement, conducting thorough case investigations, drafting and filing legal documents, negotiating settlements, representing clients in court proceedings, and providing exceptional client service. Duties:Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury claimsDevelop case strategies in collaboration with other attorneysConduct legal researchLead case management teamsOversee pre-litigation, litigation, trial preparation, and trialConduct thorough case investigations to determine liability and damagesDraft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefsNegotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counselRepresent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedingsProvide exceptional client service, keeping clients informed about case progress Requirements:8+ years of personal injury experience as a Plaintiff's attorneyBilingual (Spanish) requiredLawyer in Good Standing to practice law in the state of IllinoisExcellent knowledge and understanding of state laws, regulations, and legal procedures pertaining to personal injury casesStrong research and analytical skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience in conducting legal research, preparing legal briefs, and providing sound legal advice to clients Education Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to the State Bar Skills:Ability to effectively interpret and apply legal precedents, statutes, and regulationsProficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and correspondenceStrong negotiation skillsAttention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environment Benefits:12 paid holidays annually10 days of paid vacation annually6 days of sick leave annuallyMedical insurance for enrolled employee (Optional dependent’s coverage available at employee’s cost)Optional Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance plans401(k) with 4% fully vested safe-harbor company matchCommunications stipend for remote employeesTraining and continuing education budgetRegular firm events (happy hours, team building, holiday party, etc)
