As part of the front line, it will be your duty to represent AIH by welcoming and assisting customers and keeping the store tidy and well stocked.SUMMARYAlaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking qualified Counter Sales employees for its Fairbanks retail location.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Process POS (point of sale) transactions * Assure proper service and care is given to every customer * Stock, assemble, and rotate merchandise from all inbound store freight * Complete daily assignments at the direction of the store management team * Maintain assigned area of the store in keeping with proper merchandising standardsQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONRequired (Minimum) Qualifications * Must be 18 years or older * High school diploma or equivalentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities * Basic knowledge of product sold * Basic computer skills * Ability to read, write and perform basic math * Excellent communication skills, both written and oral * Must be self-motivated, being able to complete tasks during unsupervised periodsPreferred * Background in the retail, construction or trade industry * Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices * Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative or similar rolePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
