Practice Area: Patent Agents - Electrical Engineering,Patent Agents - Computer Science, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent for its Huntsville location. The Patent Agent must have experience in intellectual property (IP), specifically with drafting and patent prosecution, and possess a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar field. Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar technologies. The candidate must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Bar licensure in California is a plus. Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.Analyze technical documents and provide patentability opinions.Assist with patent portfolio management.Communicate with inventors and clients to gather necessary information.Assist with licensing and IP litigation support. Requirements:2-6 years of legal experience.Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.Experience with drafting and patent prosecution.Admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Bar licensure in California (preferred). Education:Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school (preferred). Certifications:Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Skills:Strong technical and analytical skills.Excellent communication and writing skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency in patent search tools and databases.Knowledge of patent laws and regulations.
