GENERAL SUMMARY: This role will be responsible for overseeing the logistics and organizational development aspects of supporting and expanding the HMMWV and other AM General products in the global market, reporting to the Director Global Aftermarket Programs. The focus will be on aftermarket parts/programs project management, organizational development, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. This position requires the leadership, organizational and technical skills to plan and execute assigned programs, meeting or exceeding AMG goals and all external customer requirements as part of the AMG Business Operating System and Management Operating System. The Program begins during the Capture Phase, extends though Proposal and into Contract execution until close out. The position will require attainment of customer needs and implement through cross-functional team to delivery. Some of these will include project managing FAT, reset/reman programs, reengineering obsolete parts, inventory turns and catalog development. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: Required B.S. in Engineering, Business, or related field. M.S. business or related field is preferred. 2 or more years of program management related experience, preferably in military tactical vehicles or defense industry. 3 or more years of project management. Management of engineering services is required; management experience of a defense contract preferred. Demonstrated DoD Acquisition Customer experience. Demonstrated strategic and tactical planning to address customer needs and company goals. Extensive experience managing a program/project team to execute a government contract or product development efforts. Expertise with typical project management (planning and control) systems and tools such as: Market Development, New Business Development, Contract and Subcontract Management, Systems Engineering Process, Integrated Master Plan, Integrated Master Schedule, Program Management Reviews, Major Milestone Reviews, Capture and Proposal Plans, Internal Budget Development and Business Case Development. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Proven ability to guide a product development process. Willingness to travel as needed. Additional skills/experience includes: Must be able to work alone, as well as part of a team. Must be able to build consensus, decide, provide direction, and deliver outcomes. Prior military or defense acquisition service preferred. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the planning, procurement, and management of aftermarket parts inventory. Develop and implement strategies for the sustainment of the current HMMWV fleet (parts, training, field service) as well as the JLTV fleet. Drive obsolescence programs, coordinating with customers to facilitate reset or new vehicle purchases. Lead and develop the organization to meet dynamic customer needs. Drive continuous skill set improvements within the organization. Responsible to coordinate with all necessary and appropriate internal and external supporting organizations to ensure the program/project is executed. Develop and maintain key process indicators, providing regular reporting and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Assure project management of reset/reman programs, optimizing processes for efficiency. Required to establish a detailed understanding of the customer and provide appropriate direction to AM General functional staff on identification of customer requirements and resolution of customer issues. Position will plan and manage advanced, complex, long range strategic company program funded by Government contract(s) and/or AM General funds. Position requires the ability to understand complex relationships, strategies, and approaches to develop plans for execution resulting in a product or service. This person will interact or direct AM General, Government, subcontractor, teammate, or partnership personnel on a frequent basis to assure delivery of Customer, AM General and stakeholder core business programs/goals/objectives. Responsible to generate appropriate reports and briefings to provide the necessary information to make critical program business decisions in a timely manner. Responsible to inform senior management and staff when the potential exists for a variance of program schedule, cost and/or performance requirements. Conduct effective meetings and reviews with both internal and external customers ensuring customer requirements, project plans and company objectives are met in a timely manner. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity so as to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner. This includes regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate. Hand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks. Manual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controls. Agility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Company's property surrounding facility, or additional work areas. Climbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balance. Lifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Physical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups. Stamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods. WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines. Employee must be able to perform job functions with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable under these conditions.
