AdvancePierre Foods, a leading supplier of value-added protein and handheld convenience products to the foodservice, school, retail, club, vending and convenience store channels, has a great opportunity for a Quality Supervisor in our Claremont, NC location. The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for carrying out the quality departmental functions at the facility level, including assisting in development and enhancement of all programs and procedures and supporting production in all areas of quality and conformance to product specifications. As the Quality Supervisor, you ll be responsible for: Providing on-the-job and classroom training for both hourly quality technicians and production employees, including assisting quality technicians with following required safety procedures Scheduling the hours and controlling the overtime of quality technicians at the production facility Supporting facility Food Safety/Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP s), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS) Supporting all product quality requirements established by both the company and by customers Scheduling, coordinating, and/or performing Food Safety, regulatory audits, and/or verifications in the areas of: o Receiving o Storage of ingredients o Packaging and raw materials o Pest control o Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s) o Net weights o Proper labeling o Quality characteristics Assisting with maximizing facility efficiencies by proactively addressing situations that could lead to downtime or product loss Providing technical assistance and support to operations personnel as necessary Maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of company personnel, USDA, and customers To succeed in this role, you ll need great leadership and communication skills, be a team-player, and have: Bachelor s degree, preferably in a Food Sciences or related major A minimum of 5 years related quality and leadership experience Ability to manipulate data efficiently and effectively Excellent analytical ability, including ability to utilize research methods, draw conclusions from data, and comprehend basic statistical process control, microbiological, and meat science as the position requires Strong computer skills in various software programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Willingness and ability to successfully complete food safety and regulatory courses Ability to work variable hours, weekends, and some holidays as needed We are proud to have a diverse team of employees and value the individual contributions and talents of our staff.
