As a vital member of our summer campstaff, you will contribute to the overall success of the program by facilitating engaging activities,ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and fostering a positive and inclusive campenvironment to inspire young minds through the exploration of creativity and faith in JesusChrist.Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through grade 12 regionally-accredited,coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling over 550 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second-largestmetropolitan area. The school is affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA),but the student body and faculty include members from more than 50 different local churches ofvarious denominations. We are interested in receiving inquiries from applicants with soundacademic credentials who desire to work in a Christian environment with capable, cooperativesummer camp students. Applicants interested in impacting through having fun and educatingelementary students for Jesus Christ beginning June 2024, can now begin the applicationprocess.Responsibilities:Activity Coordination:● Help plan, organize, and lead a variety of age-appropriate recreational activitiesand games.● Help develop and implement daily lesson plans to maximize camper participationand enjoyment.Camper Supervision:● Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and security of all campers.● Foster positive relationships with campers, addressing their needs and concerns.Team Collaboration:● Work collaboratively with fellow camp staff to create a cohesive and supportiveteam environment.Communication:● Effectively communicate with campers, parents, and other staff members.● Share daily highlights and challenges with appropriate parties.Role Modeling:● Demonstrate positive behavior and attitude as a role model for campers.● Uphold camp policies and standards, promoting a respectful and inclusiveatmosphere.Emergency Response:● Be familiar with and adhere to emergency procedures.● Respond promptly and appropriately to any camper-related incidents oremergencies.● There will be a nurse on staff during camp hours.Qualifications:● Previous experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational settingis preferred.● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.● Enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine passion for working with children.● Ability to adapt to different situations and be flexible in a dynamic camp environment.● CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.Duration:This is a seasonal position for the duration of the summer camp program.The typical commitment is for 6 weeks. Full-time staff will receive an hourly rate of $20.00. andrequired to work 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.The following dates of employment are:Week 1: June 3 - June 7Week 2: June 10 - June 14Week 3: June 17 - June 21Week 4: June 24 - June 28(We are closed for the week of July 1-5)Week 5: July 8 - July 12Week 6: July 15 - July 19Staff to Camper Ratios:Camp Wildcat Cubs (3 yrs - 5 yrs) 1 Leader + 1 helper:10 childrenMaximum 20 children with 2 or more helpers.Camp Wildcat (grade 1 - grade 5) 1 leader + 1 helper: 25 childrenMaximum 40 children with 2 or more helpers.
