MAIN FUNCTION: Under direction of CFO, responsible for making all purchases in accordance with approved purchasing procedures. Responsible for the buying process, recording all resources and materials, researching and investigating new products and cost saving avenues, preparing periodic bid letters to vendors. Maintain inventory control throughout Teresian House. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Associates degree in business or a related field. Knowledge of economics and/or related aspects of accounting. Purchasing experience in a Health Care Institution environment preferred. Must be well versed in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of inventory and purchasing software helpful. Supervisory experience necessary. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, and pushing. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Storeroom & office environment with intermittent dock work, subject to extreme seasonal temperatures. Some exposure to nursing units which may contain objectionable smells.
