Virginia Health Services is looking for a great Accountant to join our dedicated team! This will be a Full Time position, strictly Monday-Friday, from 8am-5pm. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares all monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations. Prepares monthly financial statements. Processes all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll. Prepares quarterly and year end payroll reports. Maintains fixed asset schedules. Responds to internal and external questions timely. Collaborates with the accounting team to meet department objectives. Complies with all established policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. 2-5 years accounting/finance experience. Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with accounting software a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively (written/verbal) across the organization. Self-motivated, organized and highly detailed oriented. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
