STR Mechanical is seeking a Building Automation Technician in the Charlotte, NC area. Seeking an electrician with experience running low voltage wire and able to bend conduit. Installation of building automation devices and network wiring. HVAC knowledge needed. What you will do - Troubleshoot problems and issues with control system equipment. Follows lockout/tag out procedures to shut down equipment according to OSHA requirements and company safety rules. Sets up and operates ladders, workspaces, and machinery to perform the required task. Makes repairs to the control system, replaces parts, correct wiring issues, fix programming issues, write control programs for systems, etc... Mounts devices and troubleshoots devices and wiring, whether it is in a ceiling or mechanical room or roof or wherever. Traces out wire when needed, whether it is in a mechanical room, ceiling, or any other space. Run wire for communication/and or power or low voltage. Run thermostat wire at times when needed. Mount thermostats and devices where needed. Mount devices such as sensors, actuators, controllers, etc..., and wire them up properly. Operate software for control systems, and make corrections and commission devices. Programming of control systems and controllers is required. Create graphics for systems.
