Professional Truck Driver (Lowboy - Heavy Haul)

Summary/objective The primary function of this position is to handle day to day operations of internal transportation needs. Including, but not limited to: Loading, securing, hauling, and unloading of Goodfellow equipment at various locations in the sales region. Truck drivers are also in charge of coordinating with sales, service, and customers the movement and transportation of various loads and equipment. Essential functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Order permits, coordinate with pilot cars law enforcement, and local authorities for the safe movement of oversize/overweight loads Adhere to DOT standards for the operation of commercial vehicles Perform routine safety inspections and maintenance on assigned equipment Maintain a level of safety and professionalism that is representative of Goodfellow Corp Must be mechanically inclined Competencies Must be safety-minded, team-oriented, have a working knowledge of commercial vehicles and systems and be flexible in work assignments Knowledge of Flatbed/ Heavy haul/ doubles experience/ mechanical gooseneck lowboys / multiple axle lowboys Supervisory responsibilities Work environment This position requires the ability to work in extreme environmental conditions: heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, etc. Physical demands Must be physically capable of chaining/strapping/securing various cargo on trailers. Travel required Travel for this position is mandatory, at least 3 overnights in a week. Required education and experience Minimum 3 years of OTR experience Class A CDL, doubles/triples endorsement Current DOT medical card and drug screening Clean MVR driving record Preferred education and experience High school diploma or GED equivalent Must be able to speak, write and read English Additional eligibility requirements Work authorization/security clearance requirements [List any visa requirements, H1-B sponsorship, special clearances, etc. If applicable, insert information regarding government contracts or special requirements.] Affirmative Action/EEO statement Goodfellow Corp is an equal opportunity employer.
