Sheet Metal Estimator POSITION SCOPE: The Sheet Metal Estimator will be responsible for creating accurate cost estimates for bidding projects in various construction markets. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for producing sheet metal and HVAC estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes-limited information Visit construction project sites for job walks and meetings Review and understand all the project bid documents Locate, notify, and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work Complete the estimate take off, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines Complete change order estimates for awarded projects Work as a team with other estimators, project team, and other company departments Compile and finalize the estimate within time deadline and participate in team reviews with management on bid day Prepare value engineering analysis in anticipation of the customer's best interest Develop the scope of work narrative Prepare proposal letter including the scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications. Additionally, meet proposal due date schedules Anticipate requirements of producing estimates with little information given Consistent customer follow-up for feedback on bid/proposal, reporting results to management Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3 years commercial sheet metal estimating or commercial sheet metal drafting Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications Ability to adapt to Company estimating policies and procedures Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) and BlueBeam Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening Must have a Valid Driver's License with clean record BENEFITS: Health and Dental Coverage Paid Long-term and Short-term disability insurance Paid Time Off including Paid Company Holidays Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Eligible for company 401k matching program COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $95,000 EEO STATEMENT PLS Mechanical is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including vets/disability.
