Senior Structural Steel Detailer

Hohl Industrial Services has an opening for a Structural Steel Detailer. Our business unit executes projects in a wide array of areas including but not limited to structural steel, miscellaneous metals, hydro market, mechanical, plate work, and industrial applications. As an interface between contract drawings and detailing outputs, successful candidates should have the ability to interpret contract drawings and generate 3D models and 2D detail drawings used in fabrication. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years' experience.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.Self-motivated, organized, strong communication, and mathematical skills. Preferences: Associates Degree in Drafting - preferred2+ years of experience producing structural drawings in SDS2, Tekla, or AutoCADWorking knowledge of AISC detailing/fabrication/erection standardsFamiliarity with MRP systems (Fab Suite or Fab Trol) a plus Responsibilities: Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.Create Fabrication, Erection drawings, and Bill of Materials for structural, bridge, one off, and miscellaneous steel projectsDocument Control of individual projectsAbility to manage several projects at the same timeWork closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and architects to interpret/resolve design issues.Create and submit RFI's as necessaryWork closely with Fabrication to interpret and resolve detailing issuesAbility to check/redline the work of other Steel Detailers.Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required.Produce accurate CNC files for processing equipment (burning/bending/drilling) using equipment specific software (Pro-Nest, Bend-Tech, and Peddinghaus) We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identify, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by law Job Posted by ApplicantPro
