Intermountain Farmers Association's North Region Feed Operations has a position opening for a full time Production Supervisor at our Mineral/Vitamin Premix Plant located at Lewiston, Utah . The successful candidate for the position will be goal oriented, self-motivated, a mature and positive team player and highly dependable. This position reports to the North Region Feed Operations Manager. Responsibilities of the position include: Managing animal feed supplement processing and production activity, shipping and receiving, and inventory at a feed supplement blending facility running 8 to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week. Ensuring full compliance with all federal and state regulations governing safety in the workplace and the safe manufacture of animal feed. Carrying out all company standard operating procedures, quality assurance policies and housekeeping standards. Scheduling and Managing 4 to 6 production employees. Conducting employee performance reviews and coaching to achieve individual performance goals. Assisting in hiring and training new production employees as needed. Maintaining detailed electronic production records and activity logs. Coordinating daily with the mill maintenance team on planned maintenance activities and assisting in the direction of a preventive maintenance program. Coordinating continuously with the office, sales and transportation teams on dynamic production scheduling to meet customer order demand. Qualifications for the Production Supervisor position include: Animal feed manufacturing or grain industry experience is highly desirable. Other relevant agriculture or manufacturing industry experience may also be beneficial. A four-year college degree is preferred. Majors in Ag Systems and Technology, Animal Science, Ag Business or related fields are all considered desirable for this position. 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred. The ability to lead and coach a team is essential. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Success in this position is dependent on clear and constant communication with the other segments of the North Region Feed Team. The ability to work effectively and make good decisions under stress and deadline pressure. The ability to work irregular hours at times to fill in for absent employees or meet spikes in order demand. A collaborative and hands-on management style that earns the respect of co-workers and shares in their challenges and successes. The ability to learn and utilize company software and plant automation systems. A valid driver's license and the ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
