Summer Camp Ropes Specialist - Training Provided

Summary : The Ropes specialist is responsible for teaching and facilitating team building, high ropes, low ropes and climbing tower activities. This position requires the development and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum for instruction of all aspects of the High & Low Ropes Course for all campers as well as supervision of campers. Must be belay certified or willing to be trained. Training will be provided. Duties and responsibilities: Pre-Camp Responsibilities Train staff about Low & High Ropes Course during Staff Orientation Develop a written curriculum for instructing the climbing wall, zip line, & low ropes for all ages Prepare the Ropes Course area for the opening and closing for each season Order all Ropes Course supplies through the Program Director Supervision Responsible for the safety and welfare of campers assigned to these program areas throughout the camp day including field trips, camp-wide special events & overnights Orient the entire staff to the proper rules, regulation and procedures in the Ropes Course area Maintain proper care of the Ropes Course and all rope course equipment. Report emergencies, accident and incidents directly to the Camp Director. Report repairs in writing to the Camp Director. Take an active role in maintaining the cleanliness of the camp community Programming Implement the approved curriculum on a weekly basis Assist with the development & implementation of special events Develop a set of skills that campers will be learning for Low & High Ropes in order to recognize camper's accomplishments and distribute camper awards. Administrative Duties Participation at all weekly Specialist meetings and all staff meetings Completion of written materials as requested, such as: Daily attendance of groups Weekly schedule Inventory of supplies & equipment Maintain Daily Log of equipment usage Write a final evaluation of the Ropes Course program including duties and responsibilities of Ropes Course staff, rules, regulation, helpful hints, etc. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
