Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to increase production, improve quality, reduce waste, reduce cost, maintain environmental compliance, and maintain the safe operation of the plant. This is accomplished by providing troubleshooting the batch process and technical assistance to operating personnel. This position actively seeks out, develops, and implements process improvements, procedure improvements, and process control improvements. This position monitors and analyzes plant data to improve process control and prime yield. Responsibilities : Analyze process data to maintain on-specification production and to refine process control. Initiate, scope, develop, and coordinate projects within the production unit. Maintain and revise DCS (control system) code. Improve and maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies. Increase knowledge of the process, equipment, and regulations Assist management with the direction of the Production Department. Making decisions related to product isolation, production rate changes, lot number changes, sampling decisions, changing minor process conditions. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering degree 3-7 years chemical plant experience in a chemical production environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with and knowledge of major safety and environmental regulations (PSM, HRVOC, LDAR, etc.) Computer skills for information analysis and DCS programming Writing skills to develop usable, clear procedures and instructions Excellent Interpersonal skills to enable teamwork with shift technicians, maintenance personnel, vendors, PhD. Chemists, and lab personnel Organizational skills and attention to detail We offer a competitive compensation package that includes base pay and an annual incentive.
