Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire per diem Psych Nurse Practitioner's to assess and provide optimal care for our dual diagnosis patients. ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL Silver Lake Hospital's brand-new state of the art inpatient dual diagnosis program provides inpatient treatment for adults who experience acute mental health symptoms and substance use. We are looking for compassionate, warm, caring and highly professional health care individuals who have a passion for helping others. POSITION SUMMARY Provide advanced primary and specialty medical services for the inpatient dual diagnosis unit. Duties include perform and complete psychiatric evaluations within 24 hours of patient admission. Asses, treat, manage, and coordinate psychiatric care to patients. Assist patients in managing their well-being through patient care, medication, and education. Records finding and formulates a plan and prognosis base on patient's condition. Work in collaborative relationships with other clinical staff and providers. The position involves direct patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 18 and older. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from a Nurse practitioner graduate program. Valid licensure as a registered nurse; nurse practitioner license; Certification as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner, NJ APRN license; at least one (1) year experience with psychiatric/substance use patients preferably in a hospital inpatient setting.
