Material Handler / Creeler

Description:
General description The Creeler is responsible for handling all yarn and bobbins properly in order to maintain production and quality. Key responsibilities Creel up to 16-20 circular knitting machines (with up to 120 feeds per machine) per shift; Prepare and bring the correct yarn to and from knitting machines assigned; Identify and prepare yarn for style changes, lot changes, etc.; Keep assigned knitting machine creels, yarn warehouse, yarn staging areas and ground in the work area clean; Creel yarn as specified on creel setup sheet, sample sheets, etc.; Ensure the proper knots of yarn on the back-up bobbins; Break down yarn boxes, stacking pallets, tray-packs, etc.; Operate knitting machines assigned while the knitter is on break (minor stops, non-press-off yarn break, etc.); Rebox, organize, and label boxes/pallets of yarn and relocate to the yarn inventory area; Collect and sort bobbins of yarn that are not being used or that are defective; Sort, aspirate (clean), and dispose of yarn bobbins, waste yarn cones, and packaging as needed; Yarn inventory; Communicate with previous and next shift's personnel; Produce first quality fabric while maintaining high efficiency; Perform the job safely in accordance with the JHA; Perform general housekeeping duties; Other duties as assigned. Skills required Ability to operate material handling equipment Ability to lift yarn bobbins up to 20 lbs. above your head repeatedly Push and pull heavy objects Ability to walk and stand for 12+ hours daily Ability to constant lift above your head, stoop down, and climb ladders Ability to work in a hot and cold environment Excellent eyesight and ability to distinguish patterns, colors, and shades Ability to perform detailed tasks with minimal errors Self-starter mentality and strong work ethic Team player Communication skills Basic English speaking, writing and reading skills Basic arithmetic and computer skills Experience One year of previous creeling experience preferred Job Posted by ApplicantPro
