Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Department: Surgical Services -Sterile Processing Reports To: Manager of Sterile Processing Position Status: Full-time, 37.5hrs / week with call Schedule: Monday - Friday; options for shifts available - day and evening shifts Location: Cayuga Medical Center Job Summary: Sterile Processing Technicians at Cayuga Medical Center are an integral part of our Surgical Services team and are the first step in providing safe care to all of our surgical patients. Not only are our SPD technicians crucial to our surgical program, they are also involved in reducing the possibility of infections while maintaining sterile instrumentation and cleaning essential patient care equipment throughout our organization. This is a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-evolving department within CMC as procedures and technologies change and advance. Responsibilities: Follows and adheres to all safety procedures, including wearing essential PPE (personal protective equipment) Holds oneself to the highest of standards and follows all standards of care and guidelines determined by HSPA and CBSPD Decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation Decontamination and cleaning of patient care equipment Requirements: Education - High School Diploma or GED Experience - At least 1 year is required Licensure - Certification required within 1 year of hire Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift/move minimally 25lbs Cayuga Health System Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Cayuga Health System commits to treat all people with dignity so that everyone who comes to us is safe, cared for, and respected.
