The Logistics Supervisor at Batteries Plus will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring outbound shipments from the distribution center using LTL and FTL carriers. Documents and maintains accurate shipment information within the TMS and addresses any transportation issue in a timely manner. The Logistics Supervisor will address escalated concerns directly with carriers as needed. Responsibilities: Freight Utilization and Management Provide inbound routing for domestic purchase orders as well as outbound routing on truckload shipments and shipments with special requirements Process all OS&D claims for inbound and outbound shipments, work with carriers to improve quality of shipments Ensures that all shipments offered for carriage comply with state, federal and HAZMAT regulations Create and analyze all transportation reports, give recommendations to Logistics Manager Provide frequent communication with Management team regarding status and logistics of deliveries/pick-ups to ensure quality service is provided to our customers Utilize and update the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route and optimize freight movements, and drive efficiencies. Support HTS code management. Program Enhancements and Optimization Measure daily, weekly, monthly shipping and logistics quality metrics; maintain daily reports. Analyze metrics and reports to identify trends and proactively identify potential issues. Identify, develop and test process improvements and review with warehouse, order management, IT, and other stakeholders. Resolve issues that may occur with warehouse and order management teams and train partner departments on proper processes and resolution. Work with warehouse staff to develop specifications to ensure packaging optimization. Support growth by optimizing existing logistics flow and help create new ones as needed. Compliance and Support Support policies and compliance plans and training regarding HAZMAT and Homeland Security shipping requirements and training. Resolve freight delays, carrier problems, or vendor issues; escalate risks or opportunities as appropriate. Maintains responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities, and obligations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain. 3 years+ related experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation APICS certification and/or willingness to pursue. Experience with a multi-shipper or a Tier 1 / Tier 2 Transport Management System (TMS) Familiarity with shipping and OTR transportation regulations. Understanding of logistics concepts and planning tools and software (MRP, WMS, TMS). Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office and/or other similar databases or software. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal methods.
