JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Business Development will possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong leadership/coordination acumen. They will be responsible for aggressively prospecting, identifying, qualifying, developing, and securing construction management and design-build business opportunities to support the company's revenue growth. This is a hands-on management position requiring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. A strategic understanding of AEC sales processes and business operations is mandatory. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Four-year degree in business administration, communications, marketing, construction, or a similar technical-related field. 8-10 years of business development experience with 3-5 years of this experience being in the in the construction industry (i.e., General Contractor, Construction Manager, Design-Builder, etc.) is preferred. Previous sales experience in Life Sciences, Aviation + Aerospace, and/or Industrial + Manufacturing markets is preferred. Experience must be substantiated through recent and existing client relationships. Experience supported by an in-depth understanding of the various stages of qualifications-based proposal/presentation methods (e.g., Design-Build, Construction Management at Risk, etc.), is preferred. Interpersonal - Able to work well with and persuade people at all levels of an organization. Works well in a group environment and fosters a team-first approach/mindset. Seeks ways to provide mutual internal support to others. Goal-Oriented - Able to establish SMART goals and achieve them (i.e., Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound). Organized - Able to plan, prioritize, organize, multi-task, and monitor activities and opportunities. Communication - Excellent oral presentation and written skills. Understands the services they are selling evidenced by an ability to draft/edit/review written proposal content.
