Job Summary: The Equipment Mechanic will repair and maintain vehicles and equipment. Duties/Responsibilities: · Repairs and services tractors, trucks, mowers, and all other farm equipment.· Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.· Inspects vehicles and equipment to determine whether repairs are needed.· Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs.· Schedules periodic maintenance for vehicles and equipment.· Maintains a clean and safe repair shop.· Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance.· Maintains repair log for vehicles and equipment.· Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.· Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: · Experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy and light equipment involved in construction and maintenance projects such as rollers, graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, or bulldozers.· Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair vehicles and equipment.· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.· Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.· Excellent mechanical repair skills.· Ability to follow instructions.· Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.· Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.· Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.· Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments. Education and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent required.· Previous related experience preferred but will provide on-the-job training. Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods working on vehicles and equipment.· Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back.· Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds at a time Job Posted by ApplicantPro
