Our staff works as a team to ensure working out in our fitness center is an experience for our members and guests that rival the finest fitness centers in the area. If you are an outgoing, creative people person, this position with PCC is the right fit for you. This role assists the Fitness Center Manger with the day-to-day operations of the fitness facility. The fitness attendant will provide general supervision of the fitness center, greet and assist members, and educates and trains members either individually or in a group setting. Job Requirements: Helps to design a fitness plan for Members and evaluates the abilities, needs, and physical conditions to develop suitable training programs. Teaches Members through instruction and demonstration, utilizes knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. Provides Members with information on exercise, weight control, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices. Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations and use of the exercise equipment. Maintains exercise equipment, makes minor repairs, and maintains cleanliness of equipment and the fitness center. Provide member feedback to the Fitness Center Manager. Stay up to date on fitness center programs as well as other club special events and activities. Excellent communication skills and capable of building trusting relationships. At least one year of related experience, preferred. CPR/AED Certified, preferred. All applicants must be able to provide FBI/Criminal Background Check, PA State Police Check, and Child Abuse Clearances. Education and Competencies: Passionate about health, wellness, and exercise and have the ability to motivate Members to reach their goals. Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA, ACE, ACSM, or similar) or seeking a degree in exercise science or similar field. First Aid, CPR/AED Certified, preferred. At least two years of experience of fitness equipment operation; ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement fitness programs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently lift, carries, or otherwise moves positions and objects weight up to 75 pounds.
