We offer Primary Care, Walk-In Urgent Care, some Specialty Care - including Cardiovascular, Radiology & Imaging, Medical Laboratory, and more.__Job Title: Lead Mammography Technologist FLSA Status: Non-exemptDepartment: RadiologyReports To: Radiology Practice ManagerGeneral Summary / Overview Statement: Under the supervision of the Radiology Practice Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor. and according to established procedures, coordinates the activities of the Mammography section, of the Radiology Imaging Department and its technologists. Functions as a lead resource person providing technical guidance and instruction necessary for the efficient operation of the unit and patient care. Regularly performs all the functions of a mammographer.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Demonstrates competency in performing mammograms. • Demonstrates competency provides documentation of competency and education for new staff.• Assists in maintaining department records as required to remain in compliance with State/FDA requirements and ACR guidelines.• Reviews radiology imaging requisition for required information to perform examinations. Calls appropriate personnel to review discrepancies. • Properly identifies and prepares patients for examinations, answers questions and/or refers to other appropriate personnel.• Follows HIPAA standards to maintain patient privacy and disclosure of protected patient information.• Relies on knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safely scan the patient to obtain high quality images.• Applies ALARA principles to patient, self and other associates.• Obtains quality diagnostic images • Evaluates and counsels personnel regarding work performance.• Maintains equipment in good working order through monitoring of preventative maintenance plan. Contacts repair service as necessary. • Demonstrates competency in all RIS applications.• Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shift. • Actively participates in daily huddles and problem solving.• Updates patients and families on estimated wait times in the Radiology Department. Remains visible and proactive in meeting patient's needs.• Contributes to other areas in the department as requested.• In conjunction with the Radiology Practice Manager provides daily supervision for personnel including standardization and distribution of work load. • Performs other duties as required or assigned.Qualifications, Skills and Abilities: • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. • Licensed as a Radiological Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts. • At least three years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferably advanced DEXA certification• Current BLS certification • In compliance with ARRT continuing education• Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately and professionally with all types of patients as well as associates.Working Conditions:• Possible intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, and supporting patients. • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift (up to 25 lbs.), and ability to adjust vision for close visualization-oriented tasks. • Work is performed in an indoor environment and with both natural and artificial lighting.• Potential exposure to radiation airborne dust, humidity, and temperature fluctuations. • Exposure to patients in various states of hygiene and emotional condition.• Potential risk of exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens and bodily fluids.• Potential exposure to communicable virus, disease and infection.• Potential traumatic medical situations or patients experiencing pain or discomfort.• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.________________Please apply online.Please no telephone calls.Please no faxing, mailing, or hand-delivering resumes.
