Role and Responsibilities The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and other duties related to the operations of the human resource office. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Professionally represent Swanton Welding with prospective and current employees. Works directly with and reports to the Director of Human Resources regarding all HR endeavors. Supports Director of Human Resources in educating employees on and enforcing company policies. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Assists in the full hiring process of employees, including recruitment, screening candidates and interviews. Maintains payroll information by calculating and entering in data. Administers and runs weekly payroll. Manages the attendance and vacation tracking for all employees. Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources on qualified candidates, selection process, salary ranges, incentives, start dates, offer letter details and other pertinent information. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Assists with new employee onboarding and orientation. Manages employee paperwork and employment records. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strict confidentiality is a must. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant tracking software. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment. Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. At least two years of human resource experience SHRM-CP a plus Experience with payroll systems (Paycor a plus) Manufacturing industry a plus Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
