Position Summary The ideal candidate will be professional and dependable, dedicated team player and self-starter, who can become an integral part of the IT team, working closely with other members of the IT department and other senior executives. Under the direction of the Director of IT and the IT manager, the Assistant IT Manager will play a vital role in keeping the company in a strong position to provide the best possible service to our employees and customers. Support IT Equipment and Services for All Employees Desktop support in applications such as Office 365 and other Industry Specific Systems (i.e. ERP, Fleet Management, Fleet Telematics). Zoom Unified Communications System Mobile Application Support for users, such as our Drivers on the GeoTab Driver App, or Zoom Phone Application Hardware support on a diverse array of equipment including PC's and peripherals. This includes scheduling and performing periodic PM tasks. Direct employee support to help resolve employee issues via IT Ticketing System Server Management and Networking: Maintenance on servers (VxRail), switches (Meraki), routers (Meraki), Access Points, (Meraki), SD-WAN, VOIP Equipment, and any other equipment that is part of the typical SMB information management systems. Maintenance of User List in Active Directory and Office 365 Develop and maintain integration with AD and payroll software. Database support: Querying, updating, purging, and archiving in SQL. Partial remote work / work-from-home available. Travel throughout the Northeast is expected. Availability to work weekends or nights as needed. Job Requirements: Two years of experience providing direct, in person, general hardware and software support to a small to medium sized business, including employees and customers. An IT generalist: Not necessarily an expert in any one area but knowledgeable and capable in a wide array of IT disciplines as is typical in a medium size business. Two years of experience working on servers, switches, access points, SD-WAN, VOIP Equipment, and any other equipment that is part of the typical SMB information management systems. Two years of database management experience. Any certificates demonstrating proficiency in hardware and software support will help you stand out but not absolutely required. Working knowledge of the following is a plus: MS Office Applications, especially Office 365 and Active Directory Zoom Unified Communications System Hyperconverged Infrastructure SQL Server NodeJS or ReactJS Cloud Infrastructure Design, Operations, or Migration Information Systems Security Best Practices Database Design Best Practices Continuous Improvement: Naturally curious and motivated to learn new things and expand proficiencies. Demonstrate a commitment to continually improve, share learnings to better serve your workmates and clients. Encourage team development. Strategic Planner: Mindful of the lifecycle of IT infrastructure to mitigate risks to the business. Mindful of key initiatives and performance indicators of internal stakeholders across business functions. Demonstrated ability to anticipate others' needs, plans project milestones and methodologies for flawless execution. Detail-oriented, results-oriented, champion of iterative progress, and possesses an Agile mindset. Coaching: Ability to utilize tailored coaching techniques to inspire individuals and teams to perform at a higher level. Well-organized with attention to detail Foster an environment where individuals thrive as empowered and equal members of a team. Exceptional communications skills are required. The ability to communicate thoughts, concepts, practices effectively at all levels, adjusting as needed to a target audience. A great dynamic personality and the ability to work along your fellow colleagues is crucial. He or she must be able to effectively collaborate with individuals both inside and outside the company.
